The Frühlingsfest (Spring Festival) at the Mundenhof: spring market, arts and crafts, and Baden cuisine
Each year, the people of Freiburg and visitors to the city celebrate the beginning of spring together. For two days, they come together to celebrate the end of winter at the Freiburg Spring Festival with art, culture, food, and entertainment. Entrance is free.
When and where does the Freiburger Frühlingsfest take place??
The Freiburg Spring Festival always takes place in April, on the grounds of the Mundenhof animal and nature adventure park and the city nursery of Freiburg. Once one of the largest farms in the state, the Mundenhof is now a local recreational area with close ties to agriculture and nature education. With its 38 hectares, the Mundenhof is Baden-Württemberg’s largest animal habitat.
Getting to the Mundenhof by public transportation or your own car
The festival grounds are easy to reach by public transportation. The Freiburger Verkehrs AG (VAG) public transportation authority provides a free shuttle service from the Munzinger-Straße stop to the grounds of the city nursery via Rieselfeld. The shuttle buses leave every 10 to 15 minutes during the entire event.
From the public Mundenhof parking lot, you can take the VAG shuttle bus or the Badenova-Bähnle trolley train for free to the city nursery and back. If you come by car, you can reach the grounds of the Mundenhof via the Mitte feeder road. Limited parking is available in Mundenhof’s visitor parking lot. The parking fee is €10.00/vehicle.
The Mundenhof Spring Festival: a program filled with art, culture, food, and entertainment
