The FBO, as it is affectionately abbreviated, performs in the most important concert halls and opera houses in the music world. The orchestra gives around one hundred performances per year. How fortunate for the people of Freiburg and their guests that, in addition to its world tours and performances at the Liederhalle in Stuttgart and the Berlin Philharmonic, the FBO regularly performs its own concert series at the Konzerthaus Freiburg. Nine musicians – all of them internationally renowned soloists – share a passion for experimentation and enthusiasm for engaging with the present. With almost 1,000 world premieres and around 60 CDs to its name, the Ensemble Recherche has made music history. Always on the road at Europe's most prestigious festivals, fortunately there are still many concert dates here at the Ensemblehaus in Freiburg. The setting alone is reason enough to treat yourself to a ticket to one of the concerts that take place every year in August on six consecutive days on Münsterplatz: right next to Freiburg's centuries-old cathedral and surrounded by unique old town houses such as the Historisches Kaufhaus.
