24-Hour Run for Children's Rights

At this year's 24-hour run for children's rights in the Seeparkstadion, runners can once again raise money for children's and youth projects in Freiburg.

The 24-Hour Run for Children’s Rights is taking place in Freiburg for the 20th time, this year from Saturday, October 3, to Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The run combines sports with social engagement: The goal is to raise awareness of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to bring the issues of children’s rights and child protection to the public’s attention. Therefore, 100 percent of the funds raised will go to local children’s and youth projects.

Conditions of Participation: Participatingteams can run, jog, walk, or participate in a wheelchair as part of a relay. In total, each team must complete laps for 24 consecutive hours on the 400-meter track at the Seeparkstadion. Participants can run together or individually, but one person must always be in motion with the baton. Teams can be formed by individuals, companies, clubs, or schools.

In addition to providing financial support to the runners, companies can also make direct donations and register for the 24-Hour Run on the event’s website by October 3. Spectators and other participants can also collect donations or make their own contributions to support children’s rights by October 3.

The run is being organized for the ninth time by Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe in cooperation with the City of Freiburg and the German Children’s Fund.
