Die Bergstation – Café & Restaurant is one of the most popular destinations on the Schauinsland. Situated at an altitude of about 1,220 meters, the restaurant is located right next to the historic Schauinsland cable car and offers one of the most beautiful views in the region. From the spacious sun terrace, the view stretches over Freiburg, the Rhine Valley, and the Vosges Mountains all the way to the Alps.
Culinary-wise, the Bergstation focuses on relaxed, modern Black Forest cuisine made with regional and seasonal ingredients. Whether it’s a hearty snack, breakfast, lunch, or homemade cake in the afternoon, the menu appeals to hikers, day-trippers, and food lovers alike. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also part of the menu.
The mountain breakfast, offered in combination with a ride on the Schauinslandbahn, is particularly popular. Fresh baked goods, regional cheeses and sausage specialties, jams, as well as coffee and tea are served as a table buffet. Due to high demand, early reservations are recommended.
