Stephan Rahn combines an international career as a concert pianist with deep roots in church music. He studied piano and music theory in Berlin at the “Hanns Eisler” College of Music, harpsichord in Karlsruhe, and church music in Mainz. His concert tours have taken him all over the world, often on behalf of the Goethe-Institut. From 2008 to 2021, he directed the “Kontrapunkte Speyer” series. Today, as district cantor of the Archdiocese of Freiburg, he shapes the musical life at St. Johann in Freiburg and, together with his wife, pianist and organist Christine Rahn, dedicates himself to the art of four-hand piano playing.
