Culture Day: Freiburg and the Treasures of the Upper Rhine
Freiburg im Breisgau seems familiar to many visitors: an old university town on the edge of the Black Forest, a lively market, the Freiburg gutters, and the cathedral, whose tower is one of the most famous landmarks in southwestern Germany. But if you take a closer look, you’ll discover a city whose history and art are closely linked to the cultural flourishing of the Upper Rhine region in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
For this cultural day, Terra Nobilis invites you to take a fresh look at Freiburg beyond first impressions. The focus will be on the cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, and the collections of the Augustian museum, which offer an in-depth look at sculpture, stained glass, and panel painting in the Upper Rhine region. Between the two guided tours, you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch together in a traditional Freiburg restaurant.
A day to rediscover the familiar beauty of Freiburg with art-historical depth!
