Double Reading & Milk Bar with Oliwia Hälterlein & Martin Piekar
Freiburg-based author Oliwia Hälterlein and Frankfurt-based author Martin Piekar have both been active in various areas of the literary world for some time. Their debut novels were published this year. In their own distinct ways, they tell stories about mothers and children, family, life in Germany and Poland, migration, and what it means to be at home. For the joint reading at the jos fritz bookstore, they will each read the other’s book—Martin Piekar’s *Vom Fällen eines Stammbaums* and Oliwia Hälterlein’s *Wir Töchter*—and then engage in a discussion together. Afterward, we’ll present our take on a Milchbar: music and Polish food.
