Anne Froehlich: Opening Reception and Exhibition
The Goethe-Institut cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition by South Baden artist Anne Froehlich on August 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
In her paintings, Froehlich playfully explores reflections of reality, subtle messages, and astonishing narratives. At the core of her work is an artistic engagement with “world events” across many spheres—these can include literary, political, everyday, or even surprising visual phenomena. She imaginatively expands upon her personal impressions.
Froehlich’s artistic practice focuses primarily on abstract painting. In doing so, she combines elements of Abstract Expressionism and Art Informel with conceptual approaches. Her artworks are usually created on canvas using acrylic paints, pastels, and drawing and calligraphic elements rendered with charcoal, acrylic, and colored pencils. She also frequently incorporates collage elements.
Anne Froehlich has been dedicated to painting since the early 1980s and has been working as a freelance artist in her studio in Freiburg-Zähringen since 2018.
Following the opening, there will be an opportunity to chat with the artist over a glass of wine.
Note: After the opening, the exhibition will remain on view at the Goethe-Institut through September 21, 2026.
