From June 25 to August 21, 2026, we invite you to a new exhibition in the EWS Store. It focuses on the topic of climate displacement and uses exemplary figures to illustrate how climate change, migration and international climate policy are linked - in a compact, vivid and moving way. Climate-related weather extremes are causing displacement worldwide. According to the UN report "Children Displaced in a Changing Climate", 43.1 million minors had to leave their homes between 2016 and 2021, at least temporarily. All indications are that this number will continue to rise in the coming years as extreme weather events increase worldwide. Climate-induced migration is therefore already an important issue that will affect us all. People will continue to be directly and indirectly affected by the consequences of climate change in the future. Seven life-size figures bring their fates to the fore. Seven stories represent people from all regions of the world whose livelihoods are threatened by global warming. In audio contributions, the life-size figures report on their experiences, worries and realities of life. They show how climate change is destroying livelihoods - and call on society to rethink. The personal accounts are supplemented by background information on the global effects of climate change and the size of the ecological footprint in the respective countries - illustrated on the corresponding country-specific information boards. The exhibition by the German Climate Foundation invites visitors to reflect - and to join in the search for solutions for a fairer and more sustainable future. Supplementary program We offer a free adventure program for secondary school students. If you are interested, please send us an e-mail to store-freiburg@ews-schoenau.de
