60 Years of Landwasser - Neighborhood Festival
This year, the Landwasser neighborhood in Freiburg is celebrating its 60th anniversary!
In addition to a colorful year-long program of events, the big neighborhood festival will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m. with an interfaith ceremony at the Platz der Begegnung, which will conclude at 11:00 a.m. with a cheerful, colorful human chain.
Afterward, the diverse stage program featuring local clubs and organizations will begin. Highlights include a Bulgarian dance group, various dance performances by the Albert Schweitzer Schools, the Landwasser Kids Sports Club, and an art auction to benefit AK Kunst Land Wasser. In between and toward the end (8:00 p.m.), there will be musical performances by the Landwasser Chamber Orchestra, choirs from the Albert Schweitzer Schools, the Prima Musik Music School, the Skyline Big Band Landwasser, Head Hunter, and Cold Cause. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere can head to Horizonte at Moosweiher at 5:00 p.m., where the Essamble Con Anima will be performing.
From 2:00–6:00 p.m., there will be a varied children’s program in the schoolyard of the Albert Schweitzer School II and on the sports field there, organized by the Landwasser kindergartens, SKB ASS1, HdB, the sports districts, the Step Foundation, and Kickmobile. Refreshments will be available at international food stands, among other places. From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the volunteer team from the neighborhood initiative will be serving coffee and cake. We look forward to seeing you there.
