zwischen/miete: Liv Thastum - Young Literature in Shared Apartments
It begins with a crack, a fissure in the stone. Starting from Jammerbugt on the Danish North Sea coast, where the white limestone cliffs of Bulbjerg reveal geological formations as well as the scars of history, Liv Thastum follows the traces of war, memory, and ecological change. Amid the remnants of the Atlantic Wall, shifting dunes, and dried-up lakes, the ground appears as an archive that preserves fossils as well as military relics.
With sensitivity and a hybrid “language”—half German, half Danish—Liv Thastum guides readers in her poetry debut *åben die erda* (kookbooks, 2026) to places shaped by interventions in both landscape and language. Through her three interwoven long poems, which explore the border region as a geological, historical, and linguistic space, the author engages in a dialogue with “zwischen/miete.” Our series is moderated and organized by a team of students.
