Understanding Forests and Wind Power

Why are there wind turbines in the forest? How does wind form, and how is it turned into electricity? And why do we need renewable energy? Together, we’ll get to the bottom of these questions and discover the forest from a new perspective. Around the forest house (WaldHaus) and in the adjacent forest, we’ll explore the topics of forests, wind, and wind energy in a playful and interactive way. Through small experiments, estimation exercises, and hands-on activities, we’ll learn the basics of wind energy and discuss together the opportunities—as well as the challenges—that wind energy brings to the forest.
