Lecture: Eye to Eye with the Moon: Leisure & Doing Nothing from a Daoist-Buddhist Perspective
In her lecture, Prof. Emerita Dr. Gudula Linck explores the significance of “leisure” in Chinese culture. What images are associated with it, and what role does doing nothing play in this context? The characters evoke images of pausing and quiet contemplation, along with the associated moods and atmospheres found in poems ranging from those of Tao Yuanming (365–427) to Lu You (1125–1210).
The evening will be rounded out by a Qigong workshop with hands-on exercises!
