Victor Calero Reads Thomas Bernhard—Reading in the Cloister of the Augustian museum
The Augustian museum, in collaboration with Theater Freiburg and the Zum Wetzstein bookstore, is transforming its medieval cloister into a theatrical setting.
For one hour, German-Spanish actor Victor Calero, with his distinctive voice, will take center stage at this unique reading venue in Freiburg’s historic center.
And what can you expect? A literary perspective on the museum, its audience, and the world, presented through the humorous and biting texts of the Austrian author and provocateur Thomas Bernhard.
The two-part program is entertainingly complemented by text excerpts from Marie Luise Kaschnitz and Christoph Meckel. The staged reading draws, among other sources, on passages from Thomas Bernhard’s *Old Masters* and *The Theater Maker*, as well as from *Description of a Village* by Marie Luise Kaschnitz and *H.B.G.* by Christoph Meckel.
