Dance guest performance: Irresistible Revolution
Irresistible Revolution is about the exuberant atmosphere of the carnival in Buenos Aires. In her dance piece, Argentinian choreographer Ayelen Parolin has a comparsa perform - a singing, dancing and musical carnival troupe that is an integral part of Latin American street festivals. The movements and music of the celebrating parade become the starting point of an unpredictable game. The twelve dancers of the evening follow their immediate impulses, give free rein to rebellious movements and explore new ways of being together. Using the concept of "Pleasure Activism" by writer adrienne maree brown, Ayelen Parolin explores pleasure as a field of exploration and resistance. Exuberant dances form the fertile ground for a utopia in which collective excesses sketch the possibility of another world in space.
