Masterpieces of classical music on Münsterplatz
"Spanish Night" - fiery dance rhythms and sensory intoxication
When the sun sets in the west and the summer evening bathes the historic Münsterplatz in warm light, a night full of passion, rhythm and southern elegance begins - the "Spanish Night" of the Albert Concerts.
Under the open sky, rousing musical worlds come to life: The immortally fiery drama of Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen" and the hypnotic force of Maurice Ravel's "Bolero" bring the Spanish soul to life.
The French mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez takes center stage, lending voice and form to the seductive, fearless Carmen - a stage event of magnetic presence and vocal brilliance, celebrated at major venues such as the Royal Opera House in London, the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden and the Opéra National de Paris.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Freiburg will perform, with General Music Director André de Ridder as musical director.
