Pain, Death, and Redemption
Pain, death, and the hope for salvation—constants of human life—can be seen throughout all eras and cultures, both in masterpieces of art and in everyday objects. This includes the treasures and rich cultural-historical collections of the Augustian museum in Freiburg.
The guided tour will explore diverse aspects of the past—both ancient and recent—that are often no longer part of the general public’s consciousness today. In addition, it will offer insights into the state-of-the-art presentation of the collection, featuring hands-on and multimedia stations.
Guided tour by: Dr. Olaf Siart (Research Associate for Painting, Sculpture, and Treasure Art from the Middle Ages to 1800)
Cost per participant: 8 .00 euros (guided tour AND admission to the entire museum)
Meeting point: At the specified time in the entrance area of the Augustian museum
