Martina Walther and the Ensemble Recherche: Alberta’s Wish Shop—Picture Book Concerts with a Wind Trio (ages 4 and up, Lirum Larum Reading Festival)
What does a rainy morning in a bustling city sound like? What does a hat that makes you feel good sound like? Or a giraffe-shaped carafe? And what rhythm does happiness have? With a cheerful ring of the doorbell, the world of Alberta Brocante and her “Wish Shop” opens up, presented in large format on the world’s largest kamishibai. On the stage of the Literaturhaus, musicians from the Ensemble Recherche and artist Martina Walther weave together images, sounds, and words into a melodious spectacle for all the senses.
