The final evening of this 2026 song series, on Friday, October 9, 2026, is dedicated to the lutenist John Dowland, the 400th anniversary of whose death falls this year.
Under the theme “time stands still,” the program will feature lute songs by Dowland as well as settings by Heinrich Schütz, Caccini, and Amarilli. Freiburg tenor Hans Jörg Mammel will be accompanied on the lute by Thorsten Bleich.
