Lecture & Workshop: Breaking with Storm @ TBA – hosted by Corner e.V.
Professor Niels “Storm” Robitzky has been dancing since 1983 and gained international recognition for his popping, locking, and B-boying. He is considered one of Germany’s best-known and most influential breakers and played a decisive role in shaping how breaking became popular in this country. In the first part, Storm will talk about the history of the dance—from its beginnings in the Bronx to its global spread up to the present day. Then it’s time for hands-on practice: the philosophy, movements, and basic techniques of breaking are explored in a playful way—from toprock to downrock. The difficulty level will be adapted to the group.
