The Feierling microbrewery is one of Freiburg’s best-known restaurants and combines brewing tradition, Baden hospitality, and regional cuisine at a historic location in the Old Town. The Feierling family has been brewing beer here for more than 140 years. At the heart of the brewery is the naturally cloudy full-bodied beer “Inselhopf,” which is made with organic ingredients and served right on the premises.
Right on Augustinerplatz, guests can experience the brewing process and marvel at the striking copper brewing kettles in the dining area. The menu features Baden-style and regional dishes, seasonal specialties, and vegetarian options. From light snacks to classic brewery fare, the focus is on enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere.
The traditional beer garden under old chestnut trees is particularly popular. It is one of Freiburg’s oldest beer gardens and serves as a lively gathering place for locals, students, day-trippers, and visitors from all over the world.
