Günter Fortmeier, winner of the 2016 Baden-Württemberg Kleinkunstpreis, invented his hand theater cabaret, a kind of Punch and Judy show for adults, 40 years ago. This form of minimal theater is unique in Germany.
During his mime and acting studies at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen, he developed his unique theater with hands. He has been a welcome guest at festivals and guest performances throughout Europe for many years.
Through an intensive encounter with the famous Indian shadow puppeteer Prasana Rau, he refined his hand-shadow play and still feels very connected to this tradition today.
The anniversary program is a jam-packed comedy evening and shows the full range of his comedic skills: from Indian hand shadow theater to ventriloquism, improvisation, singing and magic.
