Goodbye June
“Goodbye June” tells the story of life in its final weeks, rather than of dying as an exceptional circumstance: When June, who is terminally ill, brings her family together one last time, old conflicts resurface—while also creating space for reconciliation, humor, and closeness. Kate Winslet’s directorial debut avoids sentimentality and focuses on what palliative care can offer: self-determination, compassion, and the dignity of saying goodbye. An ensemble drama about saying goodbye, family rifts, and the chance to reconnect with one another at the end of life.
