<p><span>In the November pogroms of 1938, more than 1,400 synagogues, prayer rooms and other meeting rooms, thousands of stores, homes and Jewish cemeteries were destroyed. On the night of November 9-10, 1938, the synagogue in Freiburg was also set on fire by the National Socialists. Deportations of Jewish people to </span>concentration camps<span>followed from November 10 </span><span>.
