Commemoration of the anniversary of the pogrom night
<p><span>In the November pogroms of 1938, more than 1,400 synagogues, prayer rooms and other meeting rooms, thousands of stores, homes and Jewish cemeteries were destroyed. On the night of November 9-10, 1938, the synagogue in Freiburg was also set on fire by the National Socialists. Deportations of Jewish people to </span>concentration camps<span>followed from November 10 </span><span>. At least 30,000 people were interned, hundreds died as a result of the murderous prison conditions or were executed.</span></p> <p class="basecontent-sub-heading"><strong>Memorial service on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in the Winterer Foyer</strong></p> <p class="basecontent-line-break-text">This year, the commemorative event will take place for the first time at 6 p.m. in the Winterer Foyer of Theater Freiburg.
