Guided Tour: The Secrets of Roman Medicine
Scalpel, Ointment, and Blessings: This guided tour at the Clombischlössle Archaeological Museum explores the art of healing in ancient Rome. Accompanied by archaeologist Maya Sandhaas, participants will immerse themselves in a world where ancient surgery drew on the power of herbs and the assistance of the gods. They’ll learn how Roman doctors treated wounds, what role the thermal baths played in healthcare, and discover the roots of our modern medicine along the way. The event ticket costs 2.50 euros, plus a 5-euro admission fee (reduced rate: 3 euros). Event and admission tickets are available in the online shop and at the museum ticket office.
Admission is free for those under 27, members of the Friends of the Museum, and holders of the Freiburg Pass, Family Card, or Museums-Pass-Musées.
