Friedenskirche (Church of Peace)

The Evangelical Church of Peace on Hirzbergstraße was built in 1951 according to the design of architect Alfred Giese, who grew up in Hamburg-Altona. This is how the red clinker brick building typical of the far north came to Freiburg and explains the surprising style for the south. The vicarage, parish hall and kindergarten are grouped around the courtyard.
