Berthas Bagels brings a taste of New York bagel culture to Freiburg. The café, located in the Stühlinger neighborhood, opened in 2026 and specializes in freshly topped bagels, high-quality specialty coffees, and vegetarian and vegan options.
The idea for the concept came about after a trip to New York and an encounter with the city’s bagel culture. The goal was to create a simple dining experience that allows for personalized combinations and appeals to a variety of tastes. The bagels are sourced from a Hamburg-based baker specializing in American baked goods and topped with fresh ingredients.
The modern dining area creates a relaxed atmosphere for breakfast, a coffee break, or a snack between meals. In addition to classic bagel toppings, the menu also includes vegetarian and vegan options. All items can be enjoyed on-site or taken to go. Credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payments are accepted.
