Whispers of Zagros - With Hadi Najafi, Negar Bouban, Murat Coskun
Whispers of Zagros is a musical journey through the heart of the Zagros Mountains - where every hillside sings its own melody and the wind carries the scent of oak leaves and ancient lullabies.
The concert combines traditional instruments, regional rhythms and timeless voices that tell of the resilience, sorrow and joy of a land shaped by history and spirit.
With performances rooted in Iran's oral traditions, the ensemble presents music that ranges from the lalai (lullabies) of women - mothers, sisters, daughters and, above all, fighters - to the soog (laments) in which birth and death merge in a timeless ritual.
The audience is invited to experience an evening in which maternal dances interweave with combative songs and intimate laments from the mountains resound far beyond borders.
Note:
The Zagros Mountains, which stretch from north-western Iran to the Persian Gulf, are one of the oldest and culturally richest regions in western Asia. It is home to many ethnic groups - including Kurds, Azeris, Lors, Bakhtiari, Qashqai, Arabs and Persians - whose music is deeply rooted in identity, memory and history.
