At “Wine Meets City,” select wines from Freiburg and the surrounding region are paired with special places and stories from the city. The focus is on guided wine tastings in a relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by interesting facts about the wines, their origins, and the people behind them.
The event also features anecdotes and cultural insights about Freiburg. This creates a wonderful interplay of wine, city, and region for anyone visiting Freiburg or looking to rediscover their own city.
The wine tastings take place at a selected location in Freiburg, such as Cannon Square, which offers a view of the city. Since the group remains at this location during the tasting, this is not a traditional city tour but rather a stationary tasting event. Depending on the occasion, the format can be customized—whether for private celebrations, corporate events, or at a venue of your choice.
Aeneas Krocker is the founder of “Wein trifft Stadt.” He is a WSET Level 3 graduate, an assistant sommelier, and a recognized consultant for German wine. Since 2022, he has also been conducting regular wine tastings at the Freiburg State Winery.
