The tour begins with a ride on the Schauinsland cable car to the summit of Freiburg's local mountain. From there, you will hike downhill back to the valley station together with district forester Philipp Schell. On the way, you will see how the forest is changing due to climate change and what attempts are being made to adapt it to the current challenges.
The hike takes place on steep, stony, partly pathless terrain. The hike takes place in all weathers and there are no refreshment stops. It is therefore essential to be able to walk off-road, to wear good shoes, to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring a snack and drinks.
