Presentation of the new yearbook “Schau-ins-Land” and a tour of the Breisgau Historical Society’s exhibition room in the historical merchants' hall
We would like to take the book launch of the new *Schau-ins-Land* yearbook, vol. 145 (2026), as an opportunity to open the Breisgau Historical Society’s meeting room to the public. The City of Freiburg had made this space available to the society for its evening gatherings.
The association’s members carried out the elaborate design work themselves, including the complete painting of the walls, the exquisite stained-glass windows (designed by Fritz Geiges), the wooden ceiling, and the furnishings. The *Freiburger Tagblatt* compared the atmosphere of the room to a “guild hall from centuries past.” The interior, designed in a historicist-romantic style, has survived intact to this day.
Schedule: Tour of the room starting at 5:00 p.m.; book presentation starting at 6:30 p.m.
