Turfu is the rather unlikely collaboration between Raphaël Decoster and Matthieu Souchet. Raphaël Decoster is an accomplished musician in the traditional and folk scene, but is also interested in electronic music. Matthieu Souchet has his background in this (as well as in jazz).

The miraculous happened: something clicked musically - Turfu was born. The name is an anagram for future; the themes of their music are passion, ecstasy and drunkenness and they like to label it "cosmic".

They translate these Dionysian themes into sometimes rustic, sometimes wild melodies, combining traditional dance music with techno and handmade with digital sounds, all with just one aim: to get people dancing. To this end, they design their concerts like DJ sets in which they let their pieces flow into one another, creating a space for collective trance.
