From June 23 to 25, the traditional Oberlindenhock will once again take place in Freiburg's Upper Old Town, celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The promenade leads from the Schwabentor (Swabian Gate) through Oberlinden, past the Oberlindenbrunnen fountain to the upper Herrenstraße.
During the Oberlindenhock, streetcar services operated by Freiburger Verkehrs AG will only run intermittently. On Fridays and Saturdays between 7 p.m. and 8.05 p.m. and on Sundays from around 4 p.m. to midnight, a steward will be deployed to accompany the streetcars on foot between Schwabentor (Swabian Gate) and Oberlindenbrunnen. On Fridays and Saturdays, tram services will be suspended from 8.05 pm for traffic safety reasons.
To kick off the Hock, the traditional barrel tapping will take place in front of the Oberlindenbrunnen on Friday at 19:00. We would like to welcome Mayor Stefan Breiter as a representative of the City of Freiburg.
Culinary delights will of course be provided for visitors to the Hock.
Great bands and artists will be performing in Oberlinden and Herrenstraße on all three days.
Hock begins with the tapping of the barrel on Friday at 19.00 hrs.
