Dance: Lachenmann

Body, sound, resonance: on the 90th birthday of the composer of the century Helmut Lachenmann, his music meets dance - the SHIBUI collective meets Ensemble Recherche in an interdisciplinary dialog of choreography, space and sound.

In Lachenmann's music, sound becomes tangible movement: Friction, resistance and energy become audible, and dance and gesture react to them. Not to reproduce, but to think ahead and reinterpret, the two Freiburg cultural institutions jointly develop a stage on which music and dance meet and new artistic impulses emerge; a look back becomes a look forward. Open, fragile, surprising and sensual, TANZ: LACHENMANN explores its guiding principle: beauty as the refusal of habit.
