TAKE THE 55
The five-piece US/CH band from Basel brings the sound of the American South to the stage. Southern blues, swamp, soul, country, and rock ’n’ roll blend into a rousing mix full of groove, joy, and authenticity. Instead of copying well-known hits, the band rediscovers forgotten jukebox gems from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. A concert by TAKE THE 55 evokes the Mississippi Delta, bayous, and long nights in the juke joints of the Deep South. Music with heart, soul, and plenty of Southern spirit. The Südkurier wrote in March 2026: “Better than Joe Cocker.”
