"The Road to Patagonia" is a breathtaking surf and travel documentary about an Australian's trip along the west coast of the American continents - 50,000 km from Alaska to the southern tip of Patagonia. Matty Hannon starts his incredible surfari alone and on a motorcycle. But deep in the wilderness - alone with wolves and bears - the solo traveler's plans fail unexpectedly. Having lost everything and on the verge of giving up, he meets Heather, who runs a small eco-farm in Northern California. The two fall in love and soon decide to travel further south together - but from now on by horseback. On their way to Patagonia, the couple discovers lonely, perfect waves, experiences the highs and lows of slow travel and encounters Zapatista rebels and Amazonian shamans along the way, whose striking words leave the adventurers with existential questions.
