Perfect for anyone who wants to get to know tufting with the punch needle, delve a little deeper and create an individual home accessory!

Whether brightly colored or in soft tones, geometric or organic shapes - you can set great accents with seat cushions and give your home an individual touch.

What exactly is punch-needle tufting?

The punch needle - forerunner of the electronic tufting gun - has been experiencing a revival in the maker scene for a few years now. No wonder, because embroidery tufting with a hollow needle offers two huge advantages: It's easy to learn and you get great results immediately and quickly. Another advantage of the punch needle: you don't need such an extensive, cost-intensive set-up as when tufting with an electric gun, you can tuck the work you've started under your arm for a trip to the café and stitch much more precise motifs;-)

In addition, the technique allows a creative approach similar to drawing or painting, which makes it possible to create completely individual images and designs. The punch needle replaces the pencil and brush. Lines and areas are created by lining up different stitches on a loosely woven background fabric. The use of colored yarns creates textile works of art and accessories with unusual surface structures and designs.

And this is how it works:

First you create a design, which you then transfer to the background fabric and implement using the punch needle and our high-quality, colorful wool yarns. Don't panic, if you don't have a concrete plan yet, you can also get inspiration from examples and books here in the studio. I will be happy to advise you and we will choose something suitable for you together at the start of the course.

You will learn

- how to get from the idea to the finished design and what you need to bear in mind.

- how to use the punch needle and the various stitches.

- different ways of finishing a punched fabric.

- tricks and tips for sewing punched pieces by hand and by machine.

At the end you will take home a unique seat cushion in your design made of 100% wool (approx. 30 cm in diameter).
