Making pottery with your hands is one of the most original craft techniques. Working with clay offers a variety of possibilities for expression and design. In this basic course, we would like to create various vessels and objects together, which will then be fired. The course offers an introduction to pinch, bead and slab techniques and working with impression molds, which we will use to create bowls, plates or free objects. These can also be customized with notch patterns or wooden stamps. Turning on the wheel can also be demonstrated in this course in addition to the techniques described and can then be tried out by the participants. Participants will work on their pieces during the weekend. These can be taken home unfired or fired and glazed by the course instructor after drying. Fired or glazed pieces can be collected approx. 4 weeks after the course. Shipping is possible by arrangement, but without guarantee. The material costs are calculated according to consumption and paid to the course leader: clay €2.00/kg, firing costs for biscuit firing €3.00/kg, glaze + firing €4.00/kg
Course leader: Winter, Maria. Maria Winter is a social worker and has been working with clay in a variety of ways for many years.
