Mankind has never been as mobile as it is now! Whereas 40 years ago, a trip to Greece was still a week-long exotic trip in a VW Beetle, a Duck or an R4, today's high school graduates (and other tourists) travel to New Zealand, Asia, South America, Africa or even around the world as a matter of course.
Capturing the fast, diverse travel impressions in a photographically appealing way is not easy if you don't just want banal, frequently seen images of hackneyed Instagram hotspots. In the workshop on Friday evening, we will deal with the sensible preparation for the trip, the planning of the expected motifs and you will receive suggestions for appropriate, practical and proven equipment. We will learn how to analyze the destination and filter out the most interesting aspects from a photographic point of view. Landscape, light, nature, cities, markets, people, festivals, hotels, restaurants, culinary delights and events - a wide variety of topics await us on the road. We will work out together what you need to bear in mind in order to take the photos you are hoping for without putting your foot in it. We will gain important practical experience and practice on Saturday during a photo tour through Basel. Stress-free, relaxed and without any pressure to perform, we will approach our photographic goals together through entertaining "learning by doing". We will review the results in the group on Sunday and discuss further optimization possibilities.
Please bring along: Cameras and accessories as available, a camera phone if necessary, each with a charged battery, spare batteries and sufficient storage media (SD cards etc.).
Please note: You are responsible for your own transportation to Basel. The meeting point with the instructor is at 11 a.m. in the station concourse of the Badischer Bahnhof.
