Propaganda

In the digital age, propaganda has taken on new, powerful forms. Artificial intelligence and synthetic media create deceptively real imitations of real people - with enormous potential for manipulation. Deepfakes sow doubt, undermine reality and endanger the democratic public sphere.

Ensemble Recherche's Propaganda project is an artistic response to these phenomena. In collaboration with Prof. Nina Fischer's class for experimental film and media art at Berlin University of the Arts, two new works for chamber ensemble, electronics and video have been created. They reflect deepfakes not as deception, but as an expression of aesthetic and political reality construction. Synthesized voices and manipulated images are not used to conceal, but to reveal - as a means of analysis and criticism.
