Perhaps it’s this honesty that makes it so appealing—or the diversity of the performances. Whether rhymed or spoken, touching or explosive, for the heart, the mind, or the funny bone: anything is possible, and there’s plenty on offer at this literary decathlon.

Poetry slam master and host Marius Loy invites slammers from the region and far beyond to Freiburg’s Vorderhaus: some of the most exciting artists in their field will pass the microphone to one another here.

Anuraj Sri Rajarajendran has established himself not only as a talented rapper but also as a master of words in the realm of poetry slam.
Gregor Stäheli has been performing on poetry slam stages since 2009. As a keen observer, he uncovers the funny, absurd, and exhausting—but also the serene—aspects of life and skillfully weaves the best of these into his texts with sharp wit.
Marsha Richarz is an author, performance poet, workshop leader, and host, and lives in Leipzig. In March 2026, her essay on local politics was published in the “Feminist Voices” series by the Leipzig-based publisher Palomaa Publishing.
