The duo Misteriosa Vida (Sarah Marie Immer, violin & Matthias Kläger, guitar) plays Argentine tangos, milongas and other works by Astor Piazzolla on the one hand and baroque music by J. S. Bach, Telemann and Loeillet, among others, on the other, combining the two in an exciting program.
With his eager openness to other genres and styles, Piazzolla has shaped modern tango nuevo like no other. Fortunately, his extensive catalog of works also includes original compositions for or with guitar, including the "Histoire du Tango", which can be heard in the program as well as adaptations of Piazzolla's well-known and lesser-known works for violin and guitar.

Two of Bach's great violin sonatas, a lively partita from Telemann's "Little Chamber Music" and a well-known sonata by Loeillet contrast the program in an unusual and original way, with both styles showing surprisingly great similarities and relationships.
The two Freiburg musicians have long been known for their numerous concerts in the region and beyond. Sarah Marie Immer performs with the Cuarteto Buenos Aires and the Janus-Ensemble Freiburg, among others.
