St. Paul's Church
St. Paul’s Church was built in 1907 as the third Protestant church in Freiburg. Today, it combines worship services and congregational life with cultural events and academic activities. Together with the Paulussaal, it is a place steeped in tradition that fosters both faith and culture.
St. Paul’s Church in downtown Freiburg was originally built in 1907 as a Protestant parish hall with a prayer room. The building was damaged during World War II and underwent extensive renovation in the 1960s. Following another major renovation, the church was rededicated in February 2018. Today, it serves as a venue for worship services and parish events and, together with the adjacent Paulussaal, is used for cultural events and lectures at the University campus Freiburg. The Paulussaal is one of the city’s most historic concert and event halls. The combination of church life, culture, and academia defines the special significance of this historic building.
