Morning excursion: Birds on the Dreisam

Although the Dreisam is squeezed into a fixed bed, its clear water offers space for nature that we would not necessarily expect in the middle of Freiburg. Dippers, grey wagtails and goosanders as well as fish such as chub, barbel and minnow populate the little river. From aquatic insect larvae such as mayflies to gray herons in search of fish, the excursion offers insights into a rich ecosystem on our doorstep.
