Come closer, don't be shy! Welcome to the intermediate realm, you lost ones, you seekers, you brave ones who have come to be a little bit afraid. MONSTRĀRE transforms Theater Freiburg's Kleine Haus into a dazzling cabinet of horrors. But not one in which the curious audience just creeps past the monsters in amazement. Here, the monsters push themselves onto the stage, show themselves, tell their stories. We all know the old figures, charismatic or repulsive, abandoned or oppressed borderline figures of the social order: Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, zombies, King Kong. They also always reflected the fears, taboos and social (in)justice of the society that invented them. But which monsters actually accompany us today? What are the political ghosts that rumble in everyday life - the horror of experiencing exclusion? The horror of growing up? The horror of ecological crises and an uncertain future? Young people from Freiburg are exploring these questions together with directors Brandy Butler and Kenza Nessaf. They invite you to a horror show between glamor, horror and their own stories.
