Midterm Election Night 2026

Election Night is “Fight Night”! On Tuesday, during the U.S. midterm elections, the Carl Schurz House will step into the ring for the third time for a midterm showdown—from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., all night long, while “over there” state after state counts the rounds. America (and the rest of the world) has made it halfway through Trump’s second term, and everyone is on the ropes: the president, who’s been battered by history (2018: a loss of 40 congressional seats), wars, tariffs, and general chaos; the Democrats, who have been picking themselves up off the mat in slow motion ever since the major defeat in 2024; a country that’s just struggling to find its footing in times of upheaval. Who’s leading on points, who’s being counted out, who’s fighting their way out—we’ll be there: Live stream coverage from the U.S., insightful commentary on the events by political scientist Dr. Christoph Haas, a live video link to the U.S., our infamous U.S. politics pub quiz, plus drinks, snacks, and games. In your corner: the Carl Schurz House. The referee is: the voter.
