Lirum Larum Reading Festival
<p class="basecontent-line-break-text">The <a href="https://te8d3cebf.emailsys1a.net/c/105/5868563/0/0/0/390813/68f7b7a8b8.html">Freiburg Children's Literature Festival</a> focuses on encounters with around 12 reading guests who read to children between the ages of six and twelve from their recently published works.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
In cooperation with elementary school, district libraries, cultural institutions, associations and bookshops, around 50 events around the world of children's literature will take place across the city over 8 days. The festival will be framed by two major events: The kick-off will take place on October 5 in the Haus der Jugend. The finale will be celebrated on October 12 at Theater Freiburg. All events are free of charge.
Since 1994, the Department of Culture has been organizing the Freiburg Children's Literature Festival in cooperation with Theater Freiburg (since 2007) and Literaturhaus Freiburg (since 2017), which in its premiere year was also the 1st Baden-Württemberg Children's and Youth Literature Days.
