Art break: The palm donkey - biblical history and customs

The short tour of the Augustian museum is all about the palm donkey. It is one of the symbols of the Easter story and commemorates the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Two sculptures of the "special donkey" are on display in the museum, which used to form the center of the procession on Palm Sunday. Participation costs the regular entrance fee.
