"Heaven and hell in oil": medieval surrealism painted by yourself

In this course, participants^^ create an oil painting in the spirit of Hieronymus Bosch or the Brueghel brothers - with fantastic creatures, symbolic scenes and an abundance of fine details. You will learn the technique of the old masters, which is based on multi-layered painting, glazes and precise work with fine brushes. During the course you will: - Learn how the Northern Renaissance masters constructed their compositions and created complex, figure-rich scenes; - learn techniques of detailed elaboration and fine color gradients; - use the glazing technique to create depth, light and atmosphere; - create your own surrealist motif - full of symbols, fantasy and mysterious figures. The course is aimed at artists who want to sharpen their eye for detail and symbolic thinking and deepen the classical technique of oil painting in an unusual, surrealistic style. Previous knowledge of realistic painting is helpful, but not essential. It is mainly about the encounter with the technique, the result can be optimized at home. Please bring along: Canvas 60×60 cm, oil paints, solvent and brushes as available as well as a transport box or similar to bring the still wet work home safely between appointments.
