Heidi

High up in the mountains, the orphan Heidi finds a home and happiness. Heidi conquers all hearts with her unshakeable friendliness: from the Alm-Öhi to the Geißenpeter to us. But why is that? Do we long for a simple life with a bed of straw and a glass of fresh milk? Does Heidi stand for a longing for an ideal world and a life in a flowery meadow? Heidi has long been Swiss cultural heritage and an international pop phenomenon. It exists in countless texts, pictures, films, comics, series and translations. It's always the same story. In the end, Heidi goes back to the mountains. Lena Reißner is writing a new Heidi together with the ensemble. They ask the uncomfortable questions about the Alpine idyll: What unease is hidden behind the ideal mountain world? What danger lies in the kitsch of fir trees and sunsets?
